Future of Best Employers for Workers Over 50 

AARP is deeply committed to helping experienced workers achieve their employment goals and turn dreams into real possibilities by recognizing best-in-class workplace practices and policies, highlighting employers of choice and connecting people to trusted resources. For the past 12 years, the AARP Best Employers for Workers Over 50 award is one way we have recognized innovative, forward-looking employers who are ahead of the curve when it comes to valuing experienced workers. 

Award winners have set outstanding examples through programs that help them retain, retrain, engage and recruit the older workers who will be increasingly crucial to their success and the success of the U.S. economy over the coming decade.

But now, as we look ahead, we have decided to discontinue the program. We feel it is time to explore new ways to spotlight industry leaders and engage employers on the value of experienced workers.

Although the award is being discontinued, the policies and practices of past Best Employer winners remain valuable standards for any organization seeking to build and maintain a vibrant, multigenerational workforce. Explore the profiles of previous award winners, as well as our methodology for selecting them, to learn more about effective strategies in workplace culture, benefit design and recruiting.
