AARP 50th Anniversary Volunteers Needed
Are you an outgoing person who enjoys fun and loves your community?
Are you an organized person with some free time to help throw a great party?
If so, you can become an integral part of the AARP 50th Anniversary celebration.
Volunteers are needed across the state to host a series of events commemorating AARP’s 50th Anniversary in 2008. Specific guidelines and instructions will be provided to those individuals approved for a 50th Anniversary Volunteer position.
AARP 50th Anniversary Volunteers will:
- Promote the AARP 50th Anniversary celebration in your area
- Assist with event logistics: set-up, registration, coordination
- Assist with the planning and implementation of events
- Recruit new AARP volunteers

Consumer Issues Task Force Volunteers
The AARP Consumer Issues Task Force promotes consumer protection for all Pennsylvanians, educating AARP members and the public about fraudulent, misleading, unfair, and/or abusive marketplace practices.
Volunteers will…
- Create an image of AARP as fighting for justice and consumer protection for people of all ages
- Present information to various groups about consumer issues, such as frauds and scams, identity theft, and retail marketplace deceptions
- Participate in a variety of events sponsored by AARP
- Attend quarterly meetings in Harrisburg, expenses paid, for training updates and idea exchange
- Communicate well on the results of events and presentations
Retired teachers, professionals, and law enforcement experience is a plus. This volunteer position is available statewide. However, there is a special need for volunteers in the following areas:
- Allentown / Bethlehem / Easton
- Reading
- Bradford
- Altoona
- State College
