With offices in Sacramento, San Francisco, and Pasadena, AARP is more active than ever throughout California. Every day, we provide new opportunities for our members-to speak on issues that concern them, to make their own life choices, to reach their goals and dreams, and to make the most of life after 50. State Committees
AARP volunteers who serve on state operations and legislative teams take a lead role in their region and community to share AARP priorities, information and goals. They work closely with state office staff and other volunteers, and are willing to make legislative and media contacts in support of AARP issues.
Community Volunteers
AARP California community volunteers enrich the lives of members and their families in communities across the state. Volunteers receive training and support to implement the following activities in their communities:
- Organizing community education forums on AARP priority issues
- Working with community organizations to provide members with local volunteer opportunities
- Supporting grassroots education initiatives
- Initiating personal enrichment and outreach events for members and their families
State Office Volunteers
State office volunteers assist the California staff in Pasadena and Sacramento with a variety of projects and tasks, including mailings, meetings, special events and general office support.
