Become part of the “power” working to make Iowa better for all. Members like you have always been AARP’s greatest resource. Now, more than ever, we need your experience and enthusiasm to address the issues we care about the most – our health and independence, financial security and our communities.

Can we count on you to help make a difference?

GrassRoots, Election and Advocacy Team (GREAT) Volunteers

Do you want to help bring about policies that protect and improve the health and economic welfare of older Iowans and their families? Advocacy volunteers talk to legislators, participate in grassroots activities, and work on issue and voter education. Training provided to keep you informed about legislative issues and activity.

Community Volunteer Network

Do you enjoy participating in community events and sharing information? You can help AARP Iowa get the word out about our many programs and benefits. Our volunteers staff booths at community fairs and other special events. Training and on-going support provided. It is a wonderful opportunity to meet new people.

AARP Iowa Chapters and Retired Teachers Association Units throughout the state help members make the most of their communities and offer members a variety of advocacy, community service, education, leadership and fellowship opportunities in their community.

Community Service Volunteers

AARP’s community service volunteers are strengthening Iowa’s communities. Ongoing programs of Driver Safety, Tax Aide and Money Management provide valuable resources to make our communities safe and secure.

Office Volunteers

Do you enjoy volunteering in an office environment? If so, AARP Iowa could use your help with a variety of projects and tasks, including mailings, meetings, special events and other administrative duties.
