All scanners can take a picture of a page of text and turn it into a digital document with the help of an Optical Character Recognition software program. Scanners can also scan a photograph and put it on the computer in digital format.

Many of the newer scanners also do an amazing job of working with other documents, as well. Like the Epson scanner. It can scan business cards, filmstrips and slides.

If you have a lot of old slides or 35mm negatives this is a great way to get your photos into the computer so you can enhance and preserve them. You simply feed the film into the slot on top of the scanner, or use the included adapter to scan in slides. Here is a similar scanner from HP that has the same functionality.

The best part about these scanners is that they come with all the software you need to help you scan and archive your old memories. The photo restoration software is especially impressive. When you scan in your photos, slides, or film, the software magically restores faded photos and automatically repairs cracks, spots, and photo blemishes. There is even a one-touch dust remover for slides and negatives.

Another great thing about these scanners is that they are fairly inexpensive. So you don't have to break the bank.

Now you don't have to let your old photos languish in your closet. Bring them out…restore and digitize them in one step. You'll be glad you did.
