MODULE 2: Observing Driving Skills

What warning signs should you look for in older drivers?

In Module 1: The Meaning of Driving you learned that it is important to talk with older drivers about their attitudes and feelings about driving. It also is important to observe older drivers behind the wheel so that you have a better idea of their driving skills and are able to notice changes and patterns of driving behavior that indicate safety has become a risk.

Observing older drivers behind the wheel helps you gather facts that will help you voice your concerns and plan conversations.

This module has three parts:

  • Overview of module topic
  • Practice what you've learned
  • Review what you've learned
