More than 7,400 donors opened their hearts to the plight of older Americans affected by the disaster. This outpouring of support, together with a matching gift from AARP and AARP Foundation, has allowed us to distribute a total of $1 million to the following organizations that are helping residents get back on their feet – many of them with a special focus on helping vulnerable older adults:

  • Salvation Army Southeastern Territory
  • Habitat for Humanity of Louisiana
  • Louisiana Association of United Ways
  • Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank
  • Second Harvest New Orleans
  • Direct Relief
  • Southeast Louisiana Legal Services, Inc.
  • Council on Aging – Livingston
  • Council on Aging – Ascension
  • East Baton Rouge Council on Aging
  • Together Baton Rouge
  • Hope Ministries
  • St. Bernard Project
