Gena Cadieux has been volunteering with AARP Foundation Tax-Aide for 20 years. Her favorite part? The relationships. “You feel very appreciated, both by your fellow volunteers and by the clients,” Gena says. “It’s a very satisfying experience.” Learn more about Gena's story.
Karima Amin brings her talents as a professional storyteller to her role as an Experience Corps volunteer tutor. Working to help children become better readers before they enter 4th grade, she feels she’s making her mark on what’s to come. “I touch the future when I tell stories or help young people learning to read,” she says. With more than 1,200 volunteers in 13 communities across the U.S, Experience Corps scores a triple win, benefiting students, the volunteers over 50 who teach them, and the communities in which they serve.
