Q: Peter do you know of any freebies in Dublin, Ireland?
–Ann Riopelle, Sugar Land, Texas
A: Several of Dublin's famous museums are free, such as the National Archaeological Museum, the Museum of Natural History, the National Gallery of Ireland, the Garda Museum, the Museum of Modern Art, and the National Library of Ireland.
Dublin Castle's exquisite Norman ruins can be viewed for free, as can the Irish Parliament building and the many parks and gardens around the city.
If you love street markets, Dublin has many, and browsing is free. There's the Designer Market, the Food Market, the Book Market, and the Moore Street Market.
Self-guided walking tours don't cost a thing, either. If you have an iPod or an MP3 player, go to VisitDublin.com and download a few of the 12 Dublin iWalks. Taking these paths, you can explore the city at your own pace and learn about its history simultaneously.
