Motorcycle Trips

Q: Any recommendations on motorcycle tours or destinations? I have started traveling on my bike for the last four years and absolutely love it.

-Leslie, Adkins, Texas

A: Have you looked into any of the tour companies that specialize in travel by motorcycle? These companies have the special wherewithal to help you plan this sort of adventure.

For instance, Edelweiss Bike Travel (www.edelweissbike.com) offers guided tours on five continents, including a trip along the Silk Road in Western China, a tour of Morocco, and more.

Moto Tours (www.motodiscovery.com) specializes in trips from your home state of Texas to colonial Mexico, but they also offer bike journeys around the world.

Ayres Adventures (www.ronayres.com) is a similar agency that travels nearly everywhere, including South America, which means you can get your "Motorcycle Diaries" fix.

If none of these options appeals to you, you could try planning your own trip using Web sites like MotorcycleRoads.US (www.motorcycleroads.us), a resource compiled by bikers who have commented extensively on various roads throughout the United States.
