Putting you, not insurance companies, back in charge of your
The health care law has new benefits and protections that help secure your family’s health and finances.
You can’t be denied coverage
Beginning in 2014, insurance companies can no longer deny coverage to people with preexisting conditions such as asthma, diabetes, high blood pressure or even cancer. And if you or a family member get sick or injured, insurance companies can’t cut off your coverage or cancel your plan.
Your kids are covered
If you have children, they can stay on your family health insurance plan until they turn 26. It doesn’t matter if they’re in school, live with you or even if they’re married.
No more dollar limits on your care
In the past, health insurance companies could place limits on the amount of money they would pay to cover your care in a year or over your lifetime. Those days are gone, so you can get the care you need, without having to worry about huge, unexpected medical bills.
Your coverage is protected
Health insurance paperwork can be complicated. But an unintentional mistake or minor omission on an application can no longer give your insurance company an excuse to cancel your coverage. As long as you pay your premiums, the health care law protects your coverage.
