Is Social Security just for retired workers?

En español | No. In July 2014, only 66 percent of beneficiaries were retired workers. Of the remaining recipients, about 16 percent were disabled workers, 7 percent were children, 7 percent were widows, widowers and parents and 4 percent were spouses of retired workers.
