Cyber Monday (the great online shopfest after Thanksgiving) gets the glory, but for the year's best online discounts on clothing, shoes and accessories, hit your keyboard late this month and in early September around Labor Day.
Average discounts on men's, women's and children's apparel can be at least 46 percent below regular prices during the Labor Day weekend.
In identifying the 20 best days of 2011 to buy clothes online, sales-tracker ShopItToMe.com found that 11 of them were bunched up together at this time of year. And this year's best shopping days are likely to mirror last year's.
Ranking in the top 20 last year were Aug. 20 (a Saturday), 22 (Monday), 23 (Tuesday), 25 (Thursday) and 27 (Saturday). Online clothes retailers were apparently cutting prices to try to shake off the doldrums of August.
Shortly afterward, the six days from the Thursday before Labor Day through the Tuesday after it all made the top 20 list. The Sunday in the middle of that group was the single best shopping day of the year for clothes.
On each of the 20 days, the website says, the average discount on men's, women's and children's apparel was at least 46 percent below regular prices.

With a mere 41 percent average discount, Cyber Monday didn't even make the list, which was based on a review of single-day sales by more than 200 online retailers.
The other top 20 days of 2011 for clothes discounts were Jan. 15 and 16 (the weekend before Martin Luther King Jr. Day) and Jan. 25 (a Tuesday), Feb. 16-19 (the run-up to President's Day, Feb. 21) and Oct. 1 (a Saturday) and 26 (a Wednesday).
