AARP Florida Unveils Divided We Fail “Champmobile”
It’s big, purple and coming to the state of Florida. AARP and Divided We Fail unveil the “Champmobile,” an interactive educational vehicle traversing the state in the months leading up to the November elections.
“From the graphics and color to the interactive tools onboard, the Champmobile embodies what this campaign is about,” said Lori Parham, state director for AARP Florida. “We’re focusing on bipartisanship and amplifying the voices of people who want lawmakers in Washington to know that we’re tired of partisan gridlock and want substantial changes on the issues of health care and lifetime financial security.”

The Champmobile, when fully opened, is 35’ long and 16’ wide and features two computers, a video station to record your story about how health care and financial security have impacted your life, a podium where you can give your own mock presidential speech, and a wi-fi feed.
Named after Divided We Fail’s mascot, Champ, which represents the bipartisan effort of the nationwide campaign; the Champmobile is outfitted with wireless internet capabilities that allow people to check out the Divided We Fail Web sites, flat screen televisions satellite feeds so we can host debate watch parties, and even stand behind a presidential podium to give their own speeches. Visitors also have the opportunity to sit on a bench in front of the Capitol building and record their story about how financial security or health care has affected them.

AARP Florida’s Champmobile is wall papered with monuments from Washington, D.C. and a flat panel television can relay the day’s news through its satellite feed.
“We’re excited about the second phase of the Divided We Fail initiative,” said Jeff Johnson, manager for Divided We Fail in Florida. “The Champmobile is unique to our state and gives us the opportunity to reach every community. Expect to see the Champmobile in your hometown soon.”
The Champmobile is scheduled to appear in these areas as well as others as events are scheduled:
