Emmy winner and singer Amy Grant put her career on hold to take care of her ill father, who is suffering from dementia.

Grant talks with AARP Radio host Mike Cuthbert about her new album, How Mercy Looks from Here, and how her mother, who died in 2011, inspired many of the lyrics.

The studio album is her first in a decade and is a highly reflective and personal work that touches on perseverance and faith.

Grant talks about the transition, the triumphs and the challenges of being a caregiver, and how she and her siblings coordinate care.
