After the age of forty, everyone starts reaching for reading glasses. And while you can hold a piece of paper farther away to make the print clearer, you can't do that with a computer keyboard. Many people struggle to see the letters on the keyboard while also clearly seeing the computer screen. Those who wear glasses for distance end up constantly taking their glasses on and off, and bifocal wearers get a pain in the neck from moving their head up and down for the right angle.

The Vision Board™ offers a good solution for many struggling with the problem of trying to view a computer keyboard and monitor equally well. It's also excellent for those with more serious vision impairments, and its oversized keys are useful for people with arthritis, dexterity problems or shaky hands, as well. The major letter and number keys are about one inch wide and one inch high. Other keys, like the backspace, enter, and shift keys, are even larger. The high-contrast black-on-white lettering is infinitely more readable than the standard white-on-black used for most of today's keyboards.

Like most keyboards, main keys such as letters, numbers, punctuations, tab, Ctrl, and Alt keys are grouped together in the central area of the keyboard. Off to the right side are large arrow keys. Above the arrow keys are miscellaneous keys like plus, minus, dash, slash, equal sign, insert, delete, home, end, and print screen. Key placement and omissions are easy to get used to. While all standard keys are provided, the shift key is only available on the left side of the keyboard, not both left and right sides as on many regular keyboards.

The Vision Board™ connects to a computer via the standard round PS/2 keyboard port, but it can also be hooked up to a USB port with a PS/2 to USB converter. Mac uses will have to purchase this converter to use the Vision Board with their Mac computer.

The keyboard is well constructed and has a good tactile feel. The keys have a definitive clicking sound when pressed so folks who have difficulty pressing the keys will know by the sound that they have been successful. If vision or dexterity issues keep you from taking control of your computer, the Vision Board may be just the tool you need.
