Wanted: Many Healthy Women to Help Fight Breast Cancer

From Prime Time Radio - 11/21/2009

Dr. Susan Love is raising an army to fight breast cancer. When the army is one million women strong, Love believes it will be an unstoppable force in the battle to prevent this deadly disease.

The aim is to move "beyond a cure," stopping breast cancer before it starts.

Why is the army needed? As Dr. Love tells Prime Time Radio's Mike Cuthbert in this interview, 70 percent of women who get breast cancer have no known risk factors for the disease. This means that only by studying women who get breast cancer, and others who seem to have some natural immunity, can the remaining risk factors be found.
