A minimum distance of 3 inches above the top of the steering wheel is required for the driver to have a straight line of vision for safety. If he already has a good line of sight, no adjustments are needed.
If the driver's line of sight is less than 3 inches above the wheel, adjust the seat to raise the driver higher. After he adjusts his seat, be sure he has both a good line of sight and proper positioning to reach the pedals.
If the driver still does not have a good line of vision, you are encouraged to consult an occupational therapist or a driver-rehabilitation specialist about the risks and benefits of using adaptive devices.
