Rob Reiner, director of such classics as When Harry Met Sally, The Princess Bride, Stand By Me, Misery, and A Few Good Men, is back with a new film called Flipped.  A story about kids falling in love for the first time, Flipped spotlights the importance of intergenerational relationships and is aimed for kids and grownups alike.

For the grownup audience, it evokesreminiscent feelings that they had when they first fell in love,” says Reiner. “It takes place in the late 50s, early 60s and for my generation it’s kind of nostalgic and looking back at the first time you had that first flush of love that came over you when you met that first girl that you fell in love with.”

In this interview, Reiner also speaks out on why movies for grownups are important and needed now more than ever, as well as about his relationship with his dad, comedy legend Carl Reiner.

AARP’s Movies for Grownups™ celebrates and reviews movies with storylines, performances, and filmmaking that have relevance to the informed 50+ audience.
