“That’s not possible,” was the first thought writer Joan Wickersham had when she learned that her father had committed suicide.

It’s an unfortunate reality, but every year in America there are twice as many suicides as there are murders.

In an attempt to bring order to something as inherently chaotic as suicide, Joan drew on her own experience and research to write "The Suicide Index: Putting My Father’s Death in Order."
