North Carolina's Captain Luke

Eighty-year-old Captain Luke sings his own brand of Piedmont Blues at drink-houses in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. As a retired laborer, he never considered himself a professional musician—until folklorist Tim Duffy heard his dry baritone voice. Independent producer Richard Ziglar reports.

Co-producer Barry Yeoman also took the photographs in our video slide show, which was produced by Angel Todd.
