Walktober returns for a second exciting year, showcasing the Providence’s walkability and celebrating walking through special events across the Capital City. Registration will open soon for an October 6 Providence Drum Troupe dance party and an October 8 walk audit training workshop. Through neighborhood walks and hands-on activities, participants will turn observation and fun into action, helping make Providence more pedestrian-friendly while exploring the city, meeting neighbors and strengthening community connections.

Bike Newport Virtual Safety Workshops Ride Safely!

Join AARP Rhode Island and Bike Newport starting September 10 for this online workshop to learn to travel safely on the roadways. Sessions one and two will provide an overview of various types of bicycle- and pedestrian-safe infrastructure and their benefits. Session three will teach best practices for the safe handling and operation of e-bikes for riders of all ages and experience levels. Register https://events.aarp.org/
