The 50+ Set Strikes A Pose: AARP The Magazine Selects Faces Of 50+ Real People Models After Nationwide Search
Ten Real-People “Faces of 50+” Models to Appear in March/April Issue / News Release

WASHINGTON – AARP The Magazine, the definitive voice for 50+ Americans and the world’s largest-circulation magazine with more than 33 million readers, today announced the winners of the 2008 Faces of 50+ Real People Model Search supported by RoC. The Faces of 50+ Real People Model Search looks for vivacious, active men and women who reflect AARP The Magazine’s belief that beauty and style don’t expire as you age.
After combing through over 14,000 applicants from online submissions and entries gathered at the 2nd annual AARP The Magazine Road Show, AARP The Magazine selected eight “faces” and left it up to America to choose the final two “Reader’s Choice” winners. The winners were chosen because they truly embody the best qualities of 50+ America and are revealed in the magazine’s March/April issue in a feature story spotlighting smart spring looks and style tips.
Contestants entered the model search by having their pictures taken at the AARP The Magazine Road Show stops or by submitting their photo online at www.aarpmagazine.org/modelsearch. The magazine’s editors then hand-selected eight of the winning models in age groups 50-59, 60-69, and 70+, in addition to 16 Reader’s Choice finalists to be voted on, online by readers. After more than ten thousand votes were logged, the final two Reader’s Choice winners emerged.

In her 70’s:
- Christine Andrews of Fair Lawn, New Jersey * Readers Choice
In her 80’s:
- Daisy Spears Stroud of Charlotte, North Carolina
