Post-Debate Statement From AARP New Hampshire State Director Kelly Clark
News Release
January 6, 2008
Manchester, NH – "With fewer candidates at tonight's forum, the Republicans running for President had a chance to talk in great detail about the issues that are on the minds of Americans, as well as those in New Hampshire.
"Tonight there was an important discussion about Social Security and a few mentions of how to solve our current health care crisis. We welcome hearing from the candidates on the issues that are critical to all generations and look forward to a deeper, bipartisan conversation to end the partisan gridlock and find solutions to the challenges facing Americans everyday."Financial concerns are top of mind for not only 50-plus Republicans in New Hampshire, but for all Americans. In entrance polling in Iowa conducted by the Associated Press, one in four Republicans cited economic concerns as their top issue of concern. Recent AARP polling in New Hampshire, Florida and Michigan reflects a similarly high level of concern about these issues. There are still opportunities for the candidates to talk about the issues that not only resonate with AARP members, but with all generations."
