Jennifer Cooper, MSN, RN, CCP
Jennifer is the Project Manager for the Center to Champion Nursing in America. She leads the development and implementation of the Center’s strategic initiative responsibilities through oversight of project and program analysis, providing functional support on Future of Nursing: Campaign for Action issues and technical assistance to Action Coalitions and to other groups working to implement the Institute of Medicine recommendations on the future of nursing.
Since 1995, Jennifer has worked exclusively with older adults as a nurse in adult day services, home care and in all levels of retirement community living, including long-term care, assisted living and independent living. Jennifer most recently completed a graduate nurse residency program and temporary staff position at the National Council on Aging (NCOA) in Washington, DC, where she worked with the Center for Healthy Aging in providing technical assistance to state-led healthy aging programs.
Prior to being at the NCOA, Jennifer worked as a Wellness Nurse at Wesley Enhanced Living (Doylestown, PA). She completed a year-long nursing practicum at the North Penn Visiting Nurse Association (Lansdale, PA) where she helped to develop a home and community-based chronic care management program for older adults in the Greater North Penn Region of Montgomery County, PA.
Jennifer has been actively involved as a Faith Community Nurse since 2002. She started and led a health ministry at her own faith community for 9 years and has been involved with leadership and planning among regional faith community groups in Southeastern PA.
Jennifer received her BSN from Cedarville University (Cedarville, OH) in 1995 and her MSN from Rush University (Chicago, IL) in 2011. She is a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania and is a certified Chronic Care Professional. With her experience as an RN and advanced degree in public health nursing, Jennifer’s interests lie in programs targeted at improving the health of populations and communities.
