Express Employment Professionals created the “Silver Streakers” program, which it designed to incorporate the mature worker into today’s workforce. The company offers an educational series on generational differences, entitled “Talking About Our Generations,” to all employees.

Recruiting: Express uses placement agencies targeting older job-seekers to recruit mature workers and retirees. The company’s franchisees speak directly with local AARP chapter members to tell them how Express can assist in their job search.
Workplace Culture/Continued Opportunities: To its employees working at least 32 hours per week, Express offers the following learning and development programs: tuition reimbursement, in-house classroom training, onlineonline training, and certification classes. During the past 12 months, 100 percent of Express employees have participated in at least one of the training opportunities with an average of 60 hours spent in training.
The company celebrates long-service anniversaries with announcements, parties, awards, and jewelry and travel-voucher gifts that increase with years of service.
