After downloading the app — for PCs or Macs — you go shopping online as you normally would. If the retailer you visit has active coupons, they'll appear in a drop-down box on the right side of the screen. You click on the coupon to copy its confirmation code and paste it onto the checkout page for savings.

Drop Down Deals apply to the websites — but not the real-world stores — of retailers that include Target, Kohl's, Home Depot and Best Buy.

If you want to know which retailers are offering coupons for the product you want, you can search for coupons in more than 150 product categories.

You can find troves of coupons and coupon information at sites like Couponmom.com, Smartsource.com, Coupons.com and Couponcabin.com. With these, you search on the site for your coupon, then use it at the retailer's website.
