Access to Home and Community Based Services

  • Ensure adequate funding for PASSPORT, Ohio's Medicaid waiver program that provides in-home care to elderly Ohioans. Adequate funding would ensure no waiting lists for those in need of these services.
  • Authorization for the submission of a Medicaid waiver for assisted living.

Tax and Expenditure Limits (TEL)
Oppose Ohio's Tax and Expenditure Limits (TEL) legislative proposal which would make Ohio's fiscal policy part of the state constitution rather than keeping the decision-making in the hands of Ohio lawmakers.

Social Security
Working with AARP's federal campaign to strengthen Social Security.

Medicare and Prescription Drugs
Working with AARP's federal campaign to improve Medicare and to fight for lower prescription drug costs.

Federal Legislative Advocacy
Working with AARP staff and volunteers all across the country, AARP Ohio also is working towards many important federal public policy goals, including improving the current Medicare prescription drug benefit and maintaining a sound Social Security program.
