Grassroots Advocacy at AARP

Far too many Wisconsinites are working harder and longer with no guarantee of quality, affordable health care or long-term financial security.

At AARP, we believe that access to quality and affordable health care should be a top legislative priority. We also believe that coming generations should have the resources they need to enjoy quality of life when it is time for them to retire too. Our goal is to build a broad social movement that will give policy makers the courage to take on these tough policy issues.

Grassroots advocacy is key to our mission of leading this positive social change. AARP invites you to join the campaign.

AARP Grassroots Advocates partner with staff to influence important legislative issues that impact health, economic security and protection from consumer fraud.

As an AARP Grassroots Advocate you will:

  • Enjoy being on the inside-track on important public policy.
  • Share the benefits of your life experience.
  • Help achieve the goals AARP Wisconsin members care most about-health and financial security, independent living, protection from consumer fraud
  • Serve as the trusted and respected voice of AARP.
  • Benefit from high quality training and education.
  • Enjoy stimulating new challenges.
  • Work with others who share your commitment to improving the quality of life.
  • Know that you truly are making a difference.

AARP will provide you with the orientation, skills, training and support to effectively and confidently call, write or visit policy makers, participate in public policy hearings, forums and events, identify local opportunities for education and outreach and much more.

You will be joining a dynamic group of individuals who share your commitment to improving the quality of life for us all. With your enthusiasm, experience, inspiration and motivation, AARP Wisconsin will truly have "The power to make it better."
