Medicare Prescription Drug Coverage

Medicare Rx Educational Guide

Medicare offers insurance plans to help people pay for their prescription drugs. The program is known as Medicare Part D. If you are on Medicare, you can get this drug coverage. No one can be denied for health reasons. The program is voluntary and you may already have good drug coverage. If you have limited income and resources, Medicare will pay most of your drug costs.

Medicare prescription drug coverage is a type of insurance. It could help you pay for your prescription drugs now and could also protect you against future, higher drug costs. To get the drug coverage, you will need to enroll in a Medicare-approved private drug plan. There will be many plans to choose from, so you will need to decide on the one that best suits your needs.

Learn how to compare plans and enroll – check out AARP's Medicare Rx Educational Guide.
