Death is one of those unavoidable aspects of life, right up there with taxes, yet most of us would rather discuss taxes than death! However, the evidence is pretty compelling that it can actually be easier for the dying and their loved ones if they face up to their own mortality and deal with the realities of death.
Sandra Gilbert, a professor emeritus of English at the University of California, reveals her in-depth cultural study of modern day dying and the ways we grieve in her new book, Death's Door.
