The Debate Over Assisted Suicide (Part I)

Assisted suicide is a hotly contested issue for very good reason — the emotional, religious, and moral dimensions behind the question of who makes the decision about how and when we die can be overwhelming. Meanwhile, decisions about assisted suicide are being made in courts and in state legislatures. Prime Time Radio has dedicated an entire hour to talk with two leading legal thinkers on opposite sides of the issue, Neil Gorsuch and Katheryn Tucker, to explore the legal and ethical arguments underlying this controversial issue.

In this first half of Prime Time Radio's hour-long special on assisted suicide, host Mike Cuthbert talks with assisted suicide opponent, scholar, and attorney Neil Gorsuch, who has briefed The American Hospital Association on several assisted suicide cases. His book, "The Future of Assisted Suicide in America," due for publication in early 2006, will examine the adoption of assisted suicide legislation worldwide.
