AARP Hearing Center
The 2025 AARP Virginia Election Survey delves into the opinions of Virginia voters on critical issues impacting older residents. Conducted by the American Directions Research Group, this survey aims to provide valuable insights for candidates and policymakers. The findings reveal strong voter support for initiatives such as making prescription drugs more affordable, expanding Medicaid for at-home care and ensuring paid family leave. Additionally, there is significant opposition to reducing or eliminating Medicaid coverage, with voters emphasizing the need for taxpayer funds to be directed toward resident care in nursing homes.

Methodology
The survey was conducted via telephone interviews with 1,001 registered Virginia voters 18 and older. Participants were required to provide a Virginia zip code. They must have voted in any two of the 2021, 2022, or 2023 general elections or the 2020 or 2024 presidential elections, and plan to vote in the November 2025 elections. The data collection period was from June 25 to July 08, 2025. The data were weighted by gender, age, race, education, region, and party identification to ensure representativeness. The interviews lasted approximately 10 minutes.
