Be Part of the Solution

Today, more than 10 million people over 50 are living in poverty in the U.S. All told, more than 37 million are either already in poverty or just one life event away from slipping into it. You can help.

Have you found yourself wondering how to take better control of your finances? Would you like to help older adults learn smart money habits? AARP Foundation Finances 50+SM is a financial capability program designed to motivate and empower participants to take charge of their financial future. The program assists individuals to make objective assessments, set appropriate goals and establish habits and behavior that will help them thrive.

AARP Foundation Finances 50+ covers the basics of finances, including:

  • Goal setting and budget planning
  • Debt reduction and credit repair
  • Asset building and protection

You don’t have to be a financial professional to use these resources or to help others. AARP Foundation provides training and printed guides to help you coach yourself or lead classes and offer support to others who may seek additional information around smart money habits. All materials are available for download free of charge.
