You don't have to walk the halls of the Legislative Building in Carson City to participate in the Nevada legislature. The 2007 session begins Feb. 5. You can simply let your fingers do the walking by clicking into the Nevada Legislative Web site.
The site offers access to almost everything you might want to know during the 2007 session including:
- Bill draft requests
- Introduced bills and their status
- Committee hearing calendars
- Minutes
Rx for Nevada
AARP Nevada's Rx for Nevada legislative campaign is already underway and we will need your help to let legislators know Nevadans care about these issues. We encourage you to call or email your elected state representatives. Tell them you support our Rx for Nevada agenda including the bills we're working on. See the latest issue of the Nevada Update, Three Key Bills to Support (page 3) for specifics about the bills.
Who are my legislators and how do I contact them?
To easily identify and contact your legislator, go to the Nevada Legislature Web site. Use this site to stay in contact with the people you elected to represent you in Carson City.
Where can I find info about AARP Nevada's Rx for Nevada Campaign?
We'll keep you posted on the progress of our three Rx drug bills and alert you to other issues that arise during the session. If you become an AARP Citizen Advocate by registering online you'll receive e-alerts when we need your help in the 2007 Nevada Legislature and on national issues.
You can also check our Web site's announcement board regularly for current information on our progress at the legislature.
Talk to Your State Legislators
Use email or the telephone to let lawmakers know how you feel about issues important to you. We know that legislators listen when voters speak. Tell your legislator to support the three bills addressed in our AARP Nevada Rx for Nevada Campaign and to take a close look at affordable prescription drug legislation.
