Grant Application Process
AARP Foundation has specific objectives to achieve outcomes for older adults with low income. These objectives focus on increasing income and decreasing expenditures, primarily through gainful employment, securing benefits, and accessing refunds and credits. Our work prioritizes equitable strategies and services that address systemic barriers, racial and ethnic disparities, and other biases that perpetuate economic instability.
With this Request for Application (RFA), AARP Foundation seeks to work with local, regional, or national partners to provide free tax preparation services to taxpayers age 50 and older living with low income. AARP Foundation seeks organizations or coalitions that complete at least 5,000 tax returns each year (not including any returns from AARP Foundation Tax-Aide sites) and want to prioritize serving more adults 50 and older in the Foundation’s geographic markets of interest (Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, West Virginia, and Puerto Rico). The goal of this grant opportunity is to ensure that qualifying taxpayers within the target audience reap the benefits of federal and state refunds and the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) as applicable.
