Neal Cutler

AARP Foundation board member

Neal Cutler, Ph.D., of Woodland Hills, Calif., was appointed to the AARP Foundation Board of Directors in 2010. Dr. Cutler serves on the Audit Committee and the Development Committee for AARP Foundation. He is currently executive director of the Center on Aging of the Motion Picture & Television Fund (MPTF). Dr. Cutler is also dean of the American Institute of Financial Gerontology (AIFG), a professional educational partnership with the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG). He is currently adjunct professor of gerontology at the University of Southern California (USC) and a fellow of both the Gerontological Society of America and the Employee Benefit Research Institute.

Previously Dr. Cutler was associate director of the UNCG Gerontology Program. He was director of the Boettner Center of Financial Gerontology at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia for 16 years, and later held the Boettner/Gregg Endowed Chair in Financial Gerontology in the School of Business Administration at Widener University. Dr. Cutler held a joint appointment as professor of political science and professor of gerontology at USC for 17 years, while also serving as associate director of the USC Andrus Gerontology Center's Institute for Advanced Study in Gerontology and Geriatrics.
