Authorities in Puerto Rico rushed on September 23, 2017 to evacuate people living downriver from a dam said to be in danger of collapsing because of flooding from Hurricane Maria.

Help Seniors Affected by Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands

The destruction to the islands has been unprecedented and left millions of lives in shambles. The need for those in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands remains critical. Contributions to AARP Foundation will be matched — dollar for dollar —up to a total of $250,000.

The program will offer participants free rides to medical and non-medical destinations for three months.
