ways to
Give
Nutritious and regular meals, new and marketable employment skills, a safe and affordable place to call home — these are three of the many ways donations to AARP Foundation help older Americans. We could not do it without supporters who donate both time and money to further our work. We are proud that 87 cents of every dollar we spend goes directly to our life-changing programs and services.
Gift Planning
Gift planning is the integration of personal, financial and estate planning goals with lifetime or testamentary charitable giving.
The donor determines the method of charitable giving from a portfolio of assets. It requires planning the timing of the gift and, generally, the involvement of a third party (attorney, financial planner, accountant, stockbroker, etc.). Because the donor uses assets other than cash or credit cards, gift planning provides opportunities for charitable giving in circumstances that may not otherwise allow a donor to make a gift to charity.
