Template Update: Content Fragment Path Editing Disabled in Article Templates

We are pleased to announce that, as part of the Sprint 3 deployment, we have implemented an important enhancement to the article authoring experience. Effective immediately, authors will no longer be able to modify the Content Fragment Link once an Article or Utility page has been created using a Content Fragment.

This update was introduced to improve system stability, ensure content integrity, and deliver a more consistent publishing experience. By preventing post‑creation changes to the linked content fragment, we are mitigating issues previously observed when authors attempted to replace or swap fragments within an existing article. These past edits frequently resulted in page breakage, inconsistent rendering, and unnecessary support intervention.

Key benefits of this change include:

• Improved Page Stability:
  Eliminates the risk of authors accidentally breaking an article page by replacing the core content fragment powering the template.
• Enhanced System Performance:
  Reduces performance lag and processing overhead caused by fragment swapping, contributing to a smoother and more reliable authoring experience.
• Greater Content Consistency:
  Ensures that articles maintain their intended structure and content relationships throughout their lifecycle.

Because you should not have been going into pages and updating the Content Fragment path anyways, this change should have minumal impact on your authoring efforts.
