Official Rules

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR TO WIN. A PURCHASE WILL NOT IMPROVE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING. ALL FEDERAL, STATE, LOCAL, AND MUNICIPAL LAWS AND REGULATIONS APPLY. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED.

Can I Nominate? Subject to the additional restrictions below, all nominators (“Nominators”) must be legal residents of the 50 United States, the District of Columbia or Puerto Rico who are 18 years of age or older during the Contest Period, as defined below.

Who can I nominate?  Subject to the additional restrictions below, all nominees (“Nominee”) must be legal residents of the 50 United States, the District of Columbia or Puerto Rico who are 50 years of age or older during the Contest Period.  Please note that the Nominee may not be deceased.  Self nomination is permissible.

Employees of AARP and the AARP Foundation (“Promotional Entities”) and their advertising, sponsorship and promotional agencies, and the immediate family members of, and any persons living in the same household as, any such employee are not eligible to enter or to win:  The term “immediate family members” is defined as spouses, parents, grandparents, siblings, children, and grandchildren.  To be eligible to win, Nominee must be living during the Contest Period  and the Nominee must not be nationally recognized.  Furthermore, Nominators and/or Nominee may be required to show proof of the Nominee’s extraordinary service and other documentation, as determined by AARP Foundation in its sole discretion.

Participating in the Contest constitutes the Nominator’s and Nominee’s full and unconditional agreement to and acceptance of these Official Rules.

Contest Description: AARP Foundation Hunger Hero Contest (the “Contest”) has been established to recognize individuals who and their charities that have demonstrated extraordinary work in the fight against senior hunger.

Contest Period: The contest period will begin on May 23, 2011, and end at 11:59:59 PM Eastern Time on July 22, 2011 (the “Contest Period”).

How Do I Submit a Nomination Statement? You must submit your Nomination Statement through the Internet.  Access the online Contest entry form posted at www.aarp.org/hungerhero. You should follow all posted instructions. 1) Enter your name , your date of birth, your complete address, your email address, your daytime telephone number; and the Nominee’s complete name, Nominee’s date of birth, Nominee’s complete address, Nominee’s email address and Nominee’s daytime telephone number. 2) Answer all of the questions included on the nomination form, collectively the Nomination Statement.  Nominees must be made aware that they are being nominated prior to Nominators submitting a Nomination Statement, and the Nominator will be required to acknowledge that the Nominee is aware of his/her nomination before his/her entry is accepted.  You must complete all required information to be eligible to enter. Entries that include any invalid e-mail address or inaccurate contact information will be disqualified. AARP Foundation’s designated computer clock will be the timekeeping device controlling the Contest Period.  Entries must be received by the server during the Contest Period.

You may nominate as many people as you wish, but each entry must nominate a different person, must meet all entry requirements and must be submitted separately. Entries must be completed in English or Spanish.
