What is the Windfall Elimination Provision?

En español | The Windfall Elimination Provision is a formula created by Congress that can reduce the size of your Social Security benefit if you receive a pension from work that was not covered by Social Security. Such a pension might have been earned, for instance, by work for a state government agency that does not take part in Social Security.
