Tell Congress to Oppose Any Tax Bill That Would Increase Taxes for Seniors! Take Action Now

I am a retired federal employee but my spouse is not. Can I receive spouse benefits on their record?

En español | If your spouse worked in employment that was covered under Social Security, then you may receive a spousal benefit based on their earnings. However, that benefit may be reduced by the Government Pension Offset if you are receiving a pension under the CSRS system or non-Social Security covered government employment.  The Government Pension Offset will reduce the spousal benefit you receive by 2/3 the amount of your government pension.
