Is Social Security just for retired workers?

En español | No. In September 2017, 68.4 percent of beneficiaries were retired workers. Of the remaining recipients, 14.2 percent were disabled workers, 6.7 percent were children, 6.6 percent were widows, widowers and parents and 4 percent were spouses of retired or disabled workers.
