The Retirement Survey of Oregon Registered Voters Ages 45-64 found:
- One in six Oregonians age 45-64 has less than $5,000 in savings.
- Over half of all Oregonians age 45+ do not have retirement savings through a previous employer.
- Six in ten support a plan to set up a state-run retirement savings plan.
The AARP Retirement Survey was conducted as a telephone survey among 45-64 year old registered voters in the state of Oregon. The survey examined the resident’s public opinions and experiences related to retirement preparation. The interviews were conducted in English by Precision Opinion from May 17 to May 22, 2013.
