Dan Marino: Health, Helping Children

A football legend is leaving a meaningful legacy

Dan Marino on life after retirement. For the MyGen piece.

You know Dan Marino as the football great, but there's more to the Hall of Fame quarterback than meets the eye. At one point, a little too much.

After putting on some postretirement pounds and losing several friends from obesity-related complications, Marino now makes physical activity and good nutrition a daily routine. Staying healthy enables him to focus on his passion, which is helping children with neuro-development disorders. The Dan Marino Foundation raises money for research and therapy facilities, including a special wing at the Miami Children's Hospital.
