Volunteers Needed for WorkSearch Program

By volunteering just a few hours a month, you can make a powerful difference in someone’s life.

Many of our fellow West Virginians are out of work. Most of us know someone who is unemployed. Someone considering a career change. Someone who retired but is thinking about going back to work. WorkSearch can help.

AARP, in cooperation with WorkForce West Virginia, is launching a program called WorkSearch. And we need you.

WorkSearch is an easy-to-use system that helps people find the right job based on their interests, personal characteristics, experience and skills. WorkSearch helps people:

  • quickly assess if they have the right skills for their career choice
  • access free and low-cost training programs to fill skill gaps
  • connect with employers and available job openings

We are looking for friendly volunteers with basic computer, Internet and organizational skills to help people learn to use WorkSearch. Volunteers will work in their local WorkForce West Virginia One-Stop Career Centers. AARP provides free training, and a variety of shifts are available Monday through Friday.

We need volunteers. Please call 1-800-799-4638 or e-mail WorkSearchWV@AARP.org today to find out more.
