“Explora I” has 82 connecting suites to accommodate multigenerational families.
EXPLORA JOURNEYS

"Explora I" — Explora Journeys

Explora Journeys’ first ship, the Explora I, sets sail on July 17. The 922-passenger vessel (at double occupancy) is like a Malibu dream home at sea with oceanfront suites, residences and penthouses boasting ocean views and private terraces. Eighty-two of the suites are connecting to accommodate multigenerational families (reunion, anyone?). Six restaurants offer global cuisine and elevated options such as sustainably sourced Wagyu beef and grilled octopus. Foodies will appreciate the intimate Chef’s Kitchen experience that’s hosted in a private kitchen overlooking the ocean. Other highlights are the four swimming pools, private cabanas, a comprehensive wellness program (sunrise yoga, an immune-boosting workshop) and unique excursions such as exclusive access to the Royal Swedish Opera. Explora I offers accessible suites and destination experiences that are wheelchair accessible.

Cost: From $2,150 per person for a three-night cruise from Hamburg, Germany.

Regent Seven Seas

"Seven Seas Grandeur" — Regent Seven Seas

Seven Seas Grandeur will sail its inaugural voyage in November as the latest addition to what the company regards as “The World’s Most Luxurious Fleet.” To wit, every room is a suite, and all suites have private balconies overlooking the water. The boutique beauty hosts 732 guests (double occupancy) and will also have an exceptional piece of art on board the ship. The Journey in Jewels, a Fabergé egg inspired by the ocean, will remain part of the ship’s multimillion-dollar art collection. In typical Regent fashion, the cruise includes unique onboard learning activities such as lectures, customized epicurean experiences and afternoon tea and trivia. Several suites feature wheelchair accessibility.

Cost: From $4,999 per person for a seven-night cruise from Miami.

Silversea

"Silver Nova" — Silversea

Set to debut in August, Silver Nova is the first luxury cruise ship with low emissions and hybrid power sources (a 40 percent reduction in greenhouse gases per double suite), making it one of the most sustainable cruise ships in the world. It turns out sustainable can also be chic: Suites include private glass balustrade balconies and butler service. The 728-guest vessel (at double occupancy) includes eight restaurants and 11 bars. If you want to try something new, S.A.L.T., the line’s immersive culinary experience, is focused on locally sourced ingredients, market trips and visiting chef demonstrations. Guests also can indulge in holistic wellness options at the Otium spa or relax in the infinity-edge whirlpool. Silver Nova offers accessible suites, while the dining and entertainment venues and public spaces can accommodate wheelchairs.

Cost: Fares start at $4,350 per person for a seven-night cruise from San Juan.
