Learn Twitter Shorthand
When you decide you’d like to send tweets from your smartphone, or even if you’re tweeting on the Web, Twitter has some shorthand commands that can facilitate (shorten) your Twitter messaging experience.
Here are some shorthand commands you can use to direct an action other than simply posting to your Twitter stream. (I used my Twitter username as an example in the table.)

FOLLOW username | FOLLOW marshacollier | Starts following marshacollier |
UNFOLLOW username | UNFOLLOW marshacollier | Stops following marshcollier |
ON/OFF | ON or OFF | Turns all Tweet notifications on or off |
ON/OFF username | ON or OFF marshacollier |
Turns Tweet notifications for a user on or off |
GET username | GET marshacollier | Shows the last tweet from a user |
RT username | RT marshacollier | Retweets a user's latest tweet |
FAV username | FAV marshcollier | Puts a user's latest tweet on your list of Favorites |
D username yourmessage | D marshacollier Hi how are you? | Sends a direct message to a user |
