I plan to file for Social Security at full retirement age but want to keep my current job. Do I have to resign to get my benefits started?

But keep in mind that your monthly Social Security payments will increase your annual income and, depending on how much you make, may be subject to federal, state and local income taxes. You may want to increase your withholding to avoid a big tax bill and penalties in April.
